In August the itch of traveling brought me again to Greece.
Not far from the Greek Island Astipalea I found a small islet.
I so much hope the foreign investors do not display interest to construction of the hotels, restaurants, golf links, berths, airports and police stations in this island as it will cost them big bucks to pave the ways and erect a decent mooring line and a berth - the most difficult thing here since even after hours of circling in my boat around the island I found no passable place for landing.

I expect to discover that this pearl has no place both for airplanes and for helicopters!
3 days of my stay on this island turned to be a real feast! Though I managed to explore only a half of the islet I failed to find sweet water in it – this made me ratherish glad.
To let the cat out of the bag – I found a basin, which is perfect for divers but the current is too strong there and there are much better and more pleasant places for diving near the neighbouring islands, it will be easier and more safety to do it there.
Well, my provisions finished soon and I had to return to the civilization. Moreover that in the last night on this island I have been bitten by something.
Luckily my leg continued being a part of me :)

The sequel to a story about Crete...

3.08.06

The sea in Crete is wonderful! Deep blue! Especially in its Libyan part in the South. The Cretan side is also pleasant to look at: nice and clean – it is so if you move around small bays. Near the tourist sites the water is not that clean but still transparent. There are plenty of small fishes and it is really great to dive. You do not even need to go to deep water, simply dip your head into the water and watch the fishes.
The beach in Rethymnon is of sand, no sea-urchins. Scooters and paragliders are offered to entertain the tourists.

The last 4 days there were heavy waves, even the red flag has been hoisted to warn.
But we swam anyway.
My family and me really enjoyed this holiday!
